I need a new guitar, all light and fancy; one that you can dance to. 'Cause all our friends they like to on every Friday night. It's got to be smooth, fast, and make me feel like Johnny Cash and make the friends that came to see us feel like starting up a fight.

I need a new guitar to sing my songs to; one that I'll belong to. One that I can crawl inside of when I am all alone. And a brand new voice for singing that sounds like church bells ringing, a brand new set of songs to sing through a brand new microphone.

I need a brand new mind for thinking. This one's ruined from the drinking. The beer and all the Hennesey have take quite a toll. Wouldn't it be nice for once to feel straight and not show up late; for once to have some money, not be forever in the hole.
